Review: Christ-Centered Exposition: Exalting Jesus in
Ephesians
Tony Merida
Holman Reference
2014
If you are looking for a commentary that is not written for
the biblical scholar, this and the rest of this series may be the right thing
for you. The author covers the background to Ephesians, its author and recipients
to start the reader off with a general idea of the place and people. The text
of Ephesians is then covered in some depth and not without mention of some the
differences of opinion among the various biblical scholars. The explanation and
discussion moves forward at a comfortable pace, for me at least. If you want
more information a bibliography of the author's sources is available at the end
of the text, as is a list of biblical references. I found the reading easy and
the comments helpful. The end of each chapter has some questions for reflection
or discussion making the book useful for private or group study alongside the
text of Ephesians.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend this to you.
